By now you probably know all there is to know about your device, but if not, we've got you covered with some basic info below.

 

 

 

Device buttons and key features

Get a little refresher about the different buttons on your device as well as some of its key features.

Back up and restore

 

Back up apps and contacts

To back up your apps and contacts, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Accounts& synch.
  4. Tap the account you would like to sync.
  5. Tap to select or clear the desired checkboxes.
  6. Tap Sync now.

 

Back up media & pictures

To back up your media and pictures, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Tap Turn on USB storage.
  3. Tap OK.
  4. On the computer, navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive.
  5. Click to open the desired file(s).
  6. Copy the files you want to move.
  7. Paste the files in the desired location on the computer.
  8. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
  9. Tap Turn off USB storage.

 

Restore apps and contacts

Your apps and contacts will restore automatically upon the next time you sign into your Gmail account.

 

Restore media & pictures

To restore backed up media and pictures, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Tap Turn on USB storage.
  3. Tap OK.
  4. On the computer, navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive.
  5. Navigate to and move the desired file(s).
  6. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
  7. Tap Turn off USB storage.

 

Reset your device

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

Master reset with settings menu

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  2. Save any open files, and back up all necessary data to a computer if the device is responsive and can synchronize files.
  3. From any Home screen, touch the Menu key.
  4. Touch Settings.
  5. Touch Privacy.
  6. Touch Factory data reset.
  7. Uncheck the Erase SD cardcheckbox.
  8. Touch Reset phone.
  9. Touch Erase everything.

 

Master reset with hardware keys

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  2. Turn off the phone. If the phone is unresponsive and does not turn off, remove the battery and then re-insert it.
    • Press and simultaneously hold the Volume Down, Qwerty F, and Qwerty A keys.
    • Press and hold the Power/Lock key.
    • Release only the Power/Lock key after you see the LG logo.
    • If you see the Android booting up, the reset hasn't been completed and you will need to restart.
    • Release the remaining keys after the LG logo flashes.
    • The Android Unpacking screen appears.
    • The phone will restart and complete the factory reset.

     

    Memory and SIM cards

     

    SIM card

    This device supports a standard size SIM card.To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

     

    Insert

    1. Remove the back cover using the notch located on the bottom edge of the phone.
    2. Lift the battery from the compartment using the notch located toward the bottom of the phone.
    3. Remove the battery.
    4. Adjust the SIM card so the gold contact is facing down.
    5. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot, as shown.

    Remove

    1. Remove the back cover using the notch located on the bottom edge of the phone.
    2. Lift the battery from the compartment using the notch located toward the bottom of the phone.
    3. Remove the battery.
    4. Slide the SIM card out of the SIM card slot.

     

    Network settings

     

    Manual network selection

    1. From any Home screen, touch the Menu key.
    2. Touch Settings.
    3. Touch Wireless & networks.
    4. Touch Mobile networks.
    5. Touch Network operators.
    6. Touch Search networks.
    7. Touch the network you want to use.

     

    Turn on/off data roaming

    1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
    2. Touch Settings.
    3. Touch Wireless & networks
    4. Touch Mobile Networks.
    5. Tap Data Roaming to turn on or off.

     

    Turn on/off mobile data

    1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
    2. Touch Settings.
    3. Touch Wireless & networks
    4. Touch Mobile Networks.
    5. Tap Data Enabled to turn on or off.

     

    Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi

    1. From any Home screen, touch the Menu key.
    2. Touch Settings.
    3. Touch Wireless & networks.
    4. Touch to select or clear the Wi-Fi check box to enable or disable.

     

    APN settings

    1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
    2. Touch Settings.
    3. Touch Wireless & networks
    4. Touch Mobile Networks.
    5. Touch Access Point Names or APNs.
